I’m guilty of this.
As I grow familiar with my routines, my mindfulness drops. I consume content expecting explicit instructions. I want the “what to do” without understanding the “how it was done.”
But here’s what I’ve noticed: The craft behind successful work contains everything I need to know.
When I see someone crushing it in my field, I try not to just consume their output. I study their process. I notice their patterns. I reverse-engineer their approach.
The world is open source. I just need to look.
I’m learning to stop asking “what should I do?” and start asking “how did they do it?”
The answers are hiding in plain sight.
